Bitstream Animation visits DTS

Rochester, NY - This October, DTS was the focus of a visit from Bitstream Animation. CEO Richard Fairbrother met with Scott Esterson, Pro-Audio Manager of the Americas, to discuss the future of Hi-Definition Surround Sound and walked away with deeper appreciation for the company that is Digital Theater Systems.

"DTS represents the best in surround sound for current DVDs and for the upcoming Hi Definition discs such as Blu-Ray." He continued, "What we worked on was to make sure we're in line with future specifications and to make sure we have the ability to provide our content with the best platform available."

Hi Definition DVD is set to launch in Spring 2006 and will feature even greater storage capacity along with lossless compression for audio tracks.

"What we're seeing is that consumers will have a choice in surround sound formats and we want to partner with the best. It's also why we use Skywalker Sound for our sound design and mixes. We'll always work to provide our customers with the best possible formats and DTS certainly represents where we want to be with hi-definition encoding for DVD audio."

Bitstream Animation was the first company to release a customized introduction with 6.1 surround sound. Featuring six audio channels and an LFE track (low frequency effects track) Bitsream continues to push the envelope in technology.

"We look forward to providing our customers and those home theater enthusiasts with as many channels as original audio sources will account for", says Richard. "We're actively developing introductions that bear in mind Hi-Definition DVD and Hi-Definition Audio with as many channels as formats will support."

It won't be the last visit for Richard and DTS. There are future trips planned and more content to deliver.
